Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday sweetheart. How was your day? Did you have cake and ice cream? What kind of cake was it? How many presents did you get to open? Did you get any new dinosaurs? Did you get a new motorcycle to play with? I saw the picture of you by the window this morning. Are you surprised? There are several people that love you very much and want your Grandma and PaPa to know how you are, so they share pictures with us. We are so sorry we didn’t get to see you today, we don’t know when you will get to see us next, but we want you to know that we miss you so much. We think about you every day. I read our “Grandma Wishes” every week just like you and I used to. I still cry at the end, only now I wipe my own tears away. We got you something for your birthday, I know you will love it. I put it in your box of love and memories and it will be there for you when you get to come back.

Papa and I have been taking good care of your little dinosaurs for you while you are gone. Your triceratops got to ride on the dash of Papas big truck today, and T-rex was in my pocket as usual. Remember how we used to play with them and read them books? Well they will be here waiting for you too. Grandma, Papa, the puppies and all of the rest of our family can’t wait to see you, to hug you, squeeze you and play with you. Don’t forget the important things you want to tell us, because I promise one day you will get to.

I love you Bubba. We love you Bubba. May your day be filled with nothing but joy. Happy Birthday to the best Grandson in the universe.

Love Grandma

I'm a middle aged working woman. I have raised four boys of which my baby is 17. Motherhood began at age 17 for me. For 30 years every choice I've made was as a mother. This past year, two of my sons have decided life is better without me. I'm a mom, a grandma, a wife that was divorced and now remarried. Here I am, still trying to figure out this thing called life.
